For the garden soirée
For a garden soirée, form pathways towards the party area, mixing up glass lanterns and hurricane lamps with paper bags filled with sand and tealights, clustering them in little groups. Colour wise, I always keep things natural and pick a colour from the garden around you. Amber lighting in the garden for special occasions is especially beautiful.
For the big get-together
For a large dinner, a long, mirrored table runner is a wonderful base to place tealight holders like those from NasonMoretti and watch the light dance around (always make sure you get tealights that are eight-hour burners). When passing food around, space on the table is always great so this helps to not overcrowd the table with lighting. Less is more.
For date night
For a romantic dinner for two, go for something bold and sexy, like Osanna Visconti’s bronze candle holders with a tall, tapered candle or with a set of candle holders like Lorenzi Milano’s and a Bzzwax candle to create an intimate light. Also, focus on the lighting you have in your house, don’t forget that the light spills out from your home into your space.
