Park Nahye’s ceramics are guided by a sense of calm comparable to the kind conjured by nature. She views her creations as still-life paintings, where natural movement comes to life through perfectly imperfect surface textures achieved with handprints. Like the results, her process is careful and considered; she works primarily with plate work and spinning wheels, using pinching techniques to create each curved form that is then scooped and poured into pre-made plaster molds. The finishing touch, which only amplifies their organic beauty, is a semi-matte ivory glaze.
