Eliot Daguet
Eliot Daguet’s fluency in wood is no accident, but rather the accumulation of constant exposure to the material. Growing up, his father was a cabinetmaker by trade, while his studies followed a trajectory that took him from carpentry to art and object design. Sure enough, he developed an eye both instinctive and artisanal, guided by geology, erosion and other orders of the natural world. To source the wood for his sculptural boards, Daguet rifles through the offcuts in his father’s workshop – as a result, each design is entirely one of a kind.
