Indian folklore meets artistic imagination in the designs of Viya. Founder Vikram Goyal finds inspiration in the interplay of global cultures – the elements that unite us all and transcend the artificial boundaries of a map – along with the age-old crafting techniques of India. Precious home accessories and furniture are fashioned from natural materials like brass, coloured stones, cane and rope. Vikram is committed to reviving forgotten or oft-overlooked artisanal traditions, including block-printing, hand-embroidery screen-printing, metal-casting and Italian pietra dura mosaic art. Each collection tells a story, from the candlesticks echoing Mumbai’s Art Deco buildings to pieces influenced by the divinity of the Banyan tree.
