The whimsical key shape of this brass cork stopper is typical of the Auböck family workshop, founded by Carl Auböck I more than a century ago. His son Carl II designed it in the mid-20th century and successive generations still manufacture it by hand at the original Vienna atelier. Please note, as this piece is made and finished by hand, slight markings and imperfections may occur. These only add to its unique character.

Meet the Maker:

Carl Auböck

After years at the forefront of the Bauhaus and Wiener Werkstätte traditions, Carl IV still works in the same atelier with the original brass moulds. He has modernised the hand-worked desk sets with input from designers like Michael Anastassiades, yet the handmade ethos remains.
