Born into a family of French craftsmen, Antonis Cardew works exclusively in wood - “the only material,” he says, “that is renewable and can be used both for furniture and architecture.” He works in small batches at his Paris atelier, tailoring his techniques to the woods – ash, beech or oak. Softness reveals itself through the hand-tooling and refined design.
