Cousins Mujtaba Kadri and Rauf Shaw established Me & K in 2008 to highlight the ancient art of Kashmir shawl-making. Their shared love of pashmina has been woven into their family dynamic for as long as they can remember, as four generations before them spent their lives dedicated to buying, selling and making. Scarves, shawls and blankets are their speciality, made using quality cashmere from goats in the Changthang region of the Himalayas – the intense cold here causes a thick undercoat that can be harvested to produce cashmere of the finest grade. Traditional techniques enrich each craft tale, such as spinning, weaving and embroidering, which are passed down through generations and carried out entirely by hand.
