This playful brass foot doorstop, designed by Carl Auböck II in the 1950s, is still produced today at the family atelier in Vienna by Carl’s descendants. They work with the original brass moulds, hand-finishing each piece to achieve the unlacquered, polished appearance of the brass. Please note, as this piece is made and finished by hand, slight markings and imperfections may occur. These only add to its unique character.

After years at the forefront of the Bauhaus and Wiener Werkstätte traditions, Carl IV still works in the same atelier with the original brass moulds. He has modernised the hand-worked desk sets with input from designers like Michael Anastassiades, yet the handmade ethos remains.
