I am an architect, it is my life.

Which item in your home brings you the most joy?
I have a vintage fórcola, the oarlock of a Venetian gondola, for which I had an arm made by Carlo Scarpa’s metalworkers in Venice. It’s pretty special.
What do you – or what would you like to – collect?
I don’t have the collecting gene, but it would be Cy Twomblys if I could.
What item in your home can’t you bear to part with?
Dylan, my exceptionally cute Jack Russell.
What’s the greatest heirloom you’re most proud to pass on?
I have some ceramics I would like to pass on to someone special.
What is your go-to gift for a host?
If (over) staying with friends, Madre Linen.
