Sister by Studio Ashby Afua Cotton Pill Stool

€1,240

Sister by Studio Ashby’s foray into the world of textile design was fuelled by the late journalist Jocasta Innes. Up until recently, founder Sophie Ashby and her family rented her former Georgian-era home in Spitalfields, which provided her with ample fuel for her pattern research. This cotton pill stool features the Afua print, inspired by the Ghanaian heritage of Sophie’s husband, fashion designer Charlie Casely-Hayford. It references typical Kente cloth motifs and structure, but reimagines them in a different scale, palette and pattern.
