From the pottery hub of Vallauris, Robert Picault revitalised culinary ceramics by blending traditional forms with geometric patterns. Over the years, designs varied slightly to reflect what inspired him most, be it the work of his close friends and creators – such as Pablo Picasso and Roger Capron – or the vibrancy of the Mediterranean Sea. Much of his oeuvre consisted of noughts and crosses, bands and weaves, alongside rich colour palettes of green, blue, white and brown. Please note, this item is a truly original vintage piece with slight imperfections and distinctive characteristics that add to its charm and celebrate its unique history.
