Husband-and-wife duo Andrea Brugi and Samina Langholz, who started their passion project just under 20 years ago, believe the ‘secret sauce’ to their success is a combination of his Tuscan roots and her Danish upbringing. Working predominantly with olivewood – a material that always felt like home to Andrea – as well as vintage and reclaimed alternatives collected from old furniture and renovation projects, they craft one-of-a-kind serving boards and organically shaped kitchen utensils entirely by hand. They are firm advocates that no individual can determine what the results should look like – instead, it’s all down to the grain and shape of the wood in question, be it a centuries-old tree stump, a rafter rescued from a local church or a gnarled piece of reclaimed timber.
