Mila Maurizi’s creations for the table are inspired by mise-en-place. They’re handwoven by skilled artisans in Mogliano, whose stories and expertise are felt in each intricate weft. The Calla cheese plate is made from wood and wicker, and its natural look is preserved thanks to a special water-based finish. Its versatile, hosting-friendly design transitions from kitchen counter to dining table with ease.

Mila Maurizi’s story began in the 1940s with Luigi Maurizi, the master twiner known for his woven handbags and baskets. Since then, the family name has passed through his son, Giuseppe, and granddaughter, Mila – who holds creative control to this day. From the heart of Mogliano, Italy’s weaving district, master artisans handcraft objects of the highest quality, using natural materials and eco-friendly dyes. No adhesives or chemicals are present, honouring the fabrics in their most organic state. Most of the team is trained directly in Carteca, the prestigious school teaching the art of weaving to new generations.
