Each one is crafted from locally sourced African blackwood and highlights the wood-carving skills established by the Makonde tribe, where a free-hand technique carves, hammers, chisels, rasps and sands to produce the naturally smooth result you see here. While the larger size is great for scooping, eating and baking, the smaller works wonderfully for salt, sugar, spices and chutneys.
