Matthew Kenney
Receptacles, vessels, canisters, drawers, and of course, boxes – the art of storage has long fascinated Matthew Kenney. In fact, it was creating a simple, rudimentary storage box for garden tools that first ignited his passion, crafted by hand more than 20 years ago in the attic of his duplex. His artisanship has evolved since that prototype, as he refined his woodworking skills and expanded into different home accessories, anchored in classic design principles with a distinct air of Scandinavian minimalism. Boxes remain the studio’s North star, and the archetypal piece lets the timber’s natural grain beam through, even when endorsed with playful colours.
