Art Brugi Hand-Carved Olivewood Large Salt Cellar

Bs595

Andrea Brugi grew up in the Tuscan countryside among the olive groves, so when he started making his rustic designs alongside wife and co-founder Samina, olivewood seemed like the natural choice. The olivewood is sourced locally from trees between 400 and 1,000 years old, and are only felled when they no longer bear fruit. The results are entirely unique due to the individual markings of the bark. This salt cellar was first conceptualised in 2007 when Andrea was cutting the olive trees in preparation for their wedding; the dry branches ended up as hand-carved salt cellars on all 22 tables.
