Lobmeyr Poppea No. 2 Hand-Blown Crystal Goblet

Bs1,200

To celebrate its 200th anniversary, Lobmeyr summoned the creative eye of graphic designer Sebastian Menschhorn to dream up the Poppea goblet. Available in a set of three, it features a sensual shape and a carefully formed stem. Glass masters use three graphite tongs, resulting in a different stem each time. What always remains the same, however, is the bowl – inspired by 17th-century Nuremberg glass chalices.

Meet the Maker:

Lobmeyr

This Viennese glassmaker was already 60 years old when it collaborated with Thomas Edison on the first electric chandelier. Today, three cousins, Andreas, Leonid and Johannes Rath run the family business, upholding the cutting and buffing techniques of their ancestors while collaborating with some of Europe's most exciting contemporary designers.
