Finnish jeweller and sculptor Björn Weckström’s captivating pieces defy the conventions of contemporary jewellery design. Weckström finds his muse in nature, geometry and mythology, producing unique creations that are delicate and charged with texture. His work earned many fans: from music legends like Yoko Ono to fictional, intergalactic royalty – two silver pieces adorn Princess Leia in 1977’s Star Wars, for example. In the 1970s, he created the Orchid Psychedelic necklace, curious shapes resembling tubular orchid petals joining to create a collar, gleaming with the soft lustre of 14-karat gold.
