Meet the Maker:

Tensira

Tensira is the story of Finland-native Tuulia Makinen Diallo and Guinea-born Hamidou Diallo. It was founded in 2010 from their family home in Paris and combines Tuulia’s fashion and textile expertise with Hamidou’s knowledge of Guinean craft – something he can attribute to his mother, an indigo dye artist with over 40 years of experience. Today, they own a workshop in Conakry, Guinea, where local artisans spin, weave and dye natural fibres by hand using traditional looms. They share a respect for African craftsmanship and sustainable production methods, utilising both in the creation of their wonderfully unique table linen.
