'Athlete' Brass Sculpture

€600

Carl Auböck II expanded his repertoire in the 1950s to include the slender 'Athlete' sculpture, which is inspired by his wife, Mara. It is still being produced in the Vienna workshop from the original brass cast, and hand-finished to a deep patina. Please note, as this piece is made and finished by hand, slight markings and imperfections may occur. These only add to its unique character.

Meet the Maker:

Carl Auböck

After years at the forefront of the Bauhaus and Wiener Werkstätte traditions, Carl IV still works in the same atelier with the original brass moulds. He has modernised the hand-worked desk sets with input from designers like Michael Anastassiades, yet the handmade ethos remains.
