Handcrafted in the UK between 1810-1815, these ceramic Wedgwood ice pails - seldom found as a pair- are a rare find. They were created when refrigeration was not possible and ice which was transported from Mont Blanc to Paris by train was a luxury to serve at home. The three-piece set features an intricately hand-painted botanical design with an internal compartment for storing ice and ice cream. Please note, this item is a truly original vintage piece with slight imperfections and distinctive characteristics that add to its charm and celebrate its unique history.
