La Gallina Matta
Claudia Petruzzi Granato is the face behind La Gallina Matta, a Rome-based maker who encourages a cosy way of living through embroidered table linen. Her process leaves no stone uncovered, from the initial research (often of ancient arts) to the design itself, carefully selecting characteristics that will harmonise with a modern tablescape. Keep an eye out for small-but-significant details that she’s added to make her creations a joy to own, like the wipe-clean element of her coated placemats – perfect for outdoor dinner parties – and the hand-finished tweaks added by skilled seamstresses using a humble needle and scissors.
