Perhaps one of the finest examples of Josef Hoffmann’s cubist eye is the Series B service, which was first designed in 1912 before Lobmeyr executed it two years later in 1914. Today, it reaches a full-circle moment more than a century later through a collection of archival re-editions available only at ABASK. Instead of classic matte black lines, you’ll find 24-karat gold hand-painted onto this crystal water tumbler in the same geometric, clean-cut formations as Hoffmann’s original.

Meet the Maker:

Lobmeyr

This Viennese glassmaker was already 60 years old when it collaborated with Thomas Edison on the first electric chandelier. Today, three cousins, Andreas, Leonid and Johannes Rath run the family business, upholding the cutting and buffing techniques of their ancestors while collaborating with some of Europe's most exciting contemporary designers.
