To Emsie Sharp, mouth-blown glass is unmatched; from her first day in the studio, she claims she was 'hooked' by its look, feel and sound. This decanter, exclusive to ABASK, features characterful stripes that curve up and around. Don’t miss the pontil scar on the base – a mark that signifies this piece has been blown free-hand.

For over 30 years, Emsie Sharp has been perfecting her craft, having studied glass at university before undertaking a three-year apprenticeship in Murano. Following this, with her newly honed skills, she moved back to the UK, where she worked for Adam Aaronson Glass Studio and Columbia Glassworks – before setting up her studio, a former cowshed in the heart of Dorset. Here, she developed the distinctive characteristics of her glassware: bright colours, trapped bubbles, sculptural silhouettes, and Georgian era-inspired imperfections. Our exclusive collection features pieces with rich craft tales; they start as molten glass in the furnace and end with a mark on the base from a metal rod. To Sharp, the process is like “alchemy – or an intricate dance”.
