Recanati-based Morici’s first collection to spotlight inlay was Venezia, which celebrates high-impact shapes and shades through geometric wood grain mosaics. Each sheet of inlay is pieced together using various veneers that have been painted, finished and super gloss-varnished by hand; these are then laser-cut to fit the required dimensions. Backed by the highest levels of manual artistry, the Cannaregio jewellery box shows how captivating the results of this meticulous process – which dates back to the 1300s – can be. It's perfect for cufflinks and earrings, and is complete with an Alcantara lining, chrome-plated hardware, plus a lock and key.

Luciano Morici and his wife Doriana established Morici in 1979 as an output for their shared love of fine craftsmanship. They set up base in their hometown of Recanati, a small Italian village with a reputation as the cradle of craftsmanship in the Marche region. Today, the family name is held up by Mirco Morici – Luciano and Doriana’s son – who continues to spread the word about the centuries-old Italian tradition of artistic woodworking. Their boxes and accessories tell stories through mosaic wood inlays, high-impact colour palettes and glossy finishes, all of which are carefully curated to enhance the naturally dyed, meticulously chosen wood veneers.
