As a metalworker, Brooklyn-based Darcy Miro forged her own path, as her explorative works straddle the line between sculpture, glass, ceramics and functional objects. Wherever and however metal can make art within these disciplines, Miro has done it. Straight after graduating from RISD in 1996, she showcased her jewellery at the Susanne Hilberry Gallery, where it was exhibited alongside Yayoi Kusama’s paintings. Further exhibitions led to special commissions, collaborations and features in esteemed publications. Today, she continues working, teaming up with renowned architects on site-specific sculptures and purposeful pieces like lighting, hardware, wallpaper and mirrors.
