Italian-born Giorgio Facchini found his calling young, apprenticing with a goldsmith from age ten. As his artistic inclinations grew, he began studying with sculptor Edgardo Mannucci, producing his own work that married jewellery techniques with abstract sculpture. His architectural pieces explored space and light, while his 1969 collection featured kinetic and futuristic elements, ultimately catching the eye of Pierre Cardin. This handmade necklace is a surprisingly pared-back design for Facchini, exhibiting 18-karat gold and delicate chain links in geometric form.
