Finnish jeweller and sculptor Björn Weckström’s captivating pieces defy the conventions of contemporary jewellery design. Weckström finds his muse in nature, geometry and mythology, producing unique creations that are both delicate and charged with texture. His work earned many fans: from music legends like Yoko Ono to fictional, intergalactic royalty – two silver pieces adorn Princess Leia in 1977’s Star Wars, for example. In this 1970s necklace, abstract, petal-like protrusions are hammered to a fine sliver and gleam with the soft lustre of 14-karat gold.
