Shelton Studios was formed in 2000 by sculptor Gabrielle Shelton. The Los Angeles native earned her BFA at the Art Institute of Chicago before moving to Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Today, the studio operates out of a 2500 sq. ft. space in Greenpoint and focuses on the crafting traditions of functional and decorative objects. Particular specialities are metal and sculpture, as Shelton and her team create work that fuses bronze, stone and aluminium.The results range from large-scale commissions to bespoke seating and objects, such as chess sets, reflecting Shelton’s incredible range.
